Project Elevate is BJM’s Early Talent Cultivation and Internship Program. We offer 4 levels of Accounting Internship programs for college undergraduates, recent college graduates and Entry level Professionals eager to grow in their field.

Seed Internship

Summer

This 12 week paid summer Accounting internship program is ideal for high school seniors and college undergrads with a passion for math, finance or accounting. The Internship will occur during the summer months of May- July. Candidates in this program will gain exposure through various training, networking and coaching opportunities. You will shadow our Administrators to learn the front-line operations of a successful accounting firm.

Spring/Winter

This 12 week paid Tax Season Accounting Internship program is ideal for college undergrads with a passion for finance and accounting. The internship will occur during the tax seasons of January – April or August – October. Candidates in this program will gain exposure through various training, networking and coaching opportunities. You will shadow our Administrators to learn the front-line operations of a successful accounting firm.

Sprout Internship

This 12 week paid Accounting Internship program is ideal for College Juniors or Seniors near graduation. The internship will occur during the tax seasons of January – April or August – October. Candidates in this program will gain exposure through various training, networking and coaching opportunities. You will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at providing practical experience and insight into the field of accounting.

Grow Internship (Junior Accountant)

This full-time CPA Acceleration Internship Program is ideal for recent College graduates or students in graduate level courses. This program will have special consideration for candidates who have graduated from our Seed & Sprout Internship program. Grow Interns have the opportunity to work full time while taking necessary courses to qualify for the CPA exam. The company will sponsor their course study, CPA prep courses and exam. The Candidates in this program will need to sign a 2 year employment commitment upon enrollment. Grow interns will be assigned a CPA Mentor to learn and grow from. Exceptional Grow Internship graduates advance to Harvest Program.

Harvest Internship (Tax Staff Accountant)

This full-time Accounting Internship program is for candidates who have successfully graduated from our Grow Internship program. It is ideal for candidates who are CPA exam eligible or working towards CPA certification. The company will sponsor your CPA exam prep course and examination. Harvest Interns will benefit from training Programs, Global Networking, hands on CPA Mentorship and Career path exploration. You will be able to build relationships with current and aspiring CPAs and BJM professionals and discover the versatility of a CPA license and how it can impact your long term career while working full time as a Tax Staff Accountant. The candidates in this program will need to sign a 2 year employment commitment upon enrollment and a 5 year employment commitment upon CPA certification.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and scanning of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Retrieves information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed.
  • Support the auditing process by gathering and organizing financial documents, conducting analytical procedures, and preparing audit workpapers.
  • Assist with administrative bookkeeping tasks, such as recording financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Performs Data entry to facilitate the completion of client books and tax returns.
  • Conduct research on accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices to support project requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Utilize accounting software and tools to input data, generate reports, and perform calculations.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including filing documents, answering phones, and assisting with client inquiries.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as ethical standards governing the accounting profession.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record with coursework in accounting, auditing, taxation, and finance.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software programs (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to change.
  • Prior accounting or finance-related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Availability to work part-time or full-time hours during the internship period.
